Pune: The three thieves beat up a hotelier in Bahul in Khed and forcibly snatched a 15 tola gold chain from his neck. The police arrested all three within twelve hours and seized valuables worth Rs 3.70 lakh including a gold chain.
The arrested has been identified as Sriram Hole (25) a resident of Holewadi, Pratik alias Bunty Dattatray Takalkar (21) a resident of Takalkarwadi and Bablu Ramesh Tope (23) a resident of Wakibu in Khed. The complainant named Satish Kundalik Gavhane (57) a resident of Patilwadi at Koregaon Bhima in Shirur have registered a case at Chakan police station.
According to the police, “Hotel S K is located on the Chakan-Shikapur road within the limits of Bahul village. The three unknown thieves came on a motorcycle and beat the complainant and the witness with wooden sticks and PVC pipes. They also snatched the gold chain weighing 15 tolas from the complainant and fled on a two-wheeler. As soon as a case was registered in this case, the Chakan police laid traps at various places and arrested all the three.”
The police officer further added, ” A gold chain and a two-wheeler used to commit the crime were seized from the accused worth Rs 3.70 lakh. Meanwhile, the accused is a notorious criminal and has previously been booked for crimes such as theft, forcible theft and possession of illegal weapons. The accused have been remanded in police custody till September 5.”
