Pune: A person signed a sale agreement of a flat by paying Rs 2 lakh. Later, on the pretext of not getting a home loan, he mortgaged the flat in two banks and duped a person of Rs 42.50 lakh.
The Bharati Vidyapeeth Police have booked a manager of ICICI Bank and two others in this connection. The incident took place on May 23, 2023 to December 29, 2024 at Vyankatesh Orchid in Ambegaon Budruk.
Dinesh Laxman Raskonda (52), a resident of Bibwewadi, lodged a complaint on Wednesday (June 26). An offence has been registered under sections 420, 467, 468, 471, 34 of the IPC against Nikhil Kisan Dange (32), a resident of Baner, Piramal Capital Finance, Bibwewadi branch, and ICICI Bank, Bhandarkar Road branch.
According to the police, the complainant is constructing a housing project after buying a 15-guntha plot in Ambegaon Budruk. Accused Dange expressed his interest to buy a flat on the first floor in the 31-flat building for Rs 44.50 lakh. He paid the complainant Rs 2 lakh through RTGS. He promised to pay the remaining amount after the agreement.
Later, Dange told the complainant that he was not getting a loan as the flat is on the second floor instead of the first floor. Later, the complainant saw a notice pasted on flat number 101 by Piramal Finance. The complainant enquired with the company and came to know that Dange had availed a loan of Rs 35 lakh on the flat.
He also came to know that Dange availed another Rs 37.82 lakh loan from ICICI Bank, Bhandarkar Road branch. The loan amount was deposited in a fake account opened in Pune Merchant Bank under the name Sai Developers. Later, he withdrew the money. The complaint stated that the finance company and the branch manager did not verify the documents while giving loans.
