Pune: Swargate Police Apprehend Building Constructor for Sexual Assault of Caretaker Woman

Pune: A disturbing incident of sexual assault on a caretaker young woman took place in Pune. In this regard, a complaint has been registered against one man at Swargate police station.

According to the information, the accused, Pravin Bamb, a resident of Lalbagh Society, Market Yard Road, Pune, is a construction businessman and also works as a share market investor. His mother is ill, and she is completely bedridden. For her caretaking, the accused hired a 24-year-old girl who was working as a caretaker for the accused’s mother.

The caretaker girl complained to the Swargate police that while she was working in the home, the accused had several times behaved indecently with her, sometimes sexually assaulting her by taking her to his bedroom. This incident happened repeatedly between April 2024 and May 11, 2024, at the lodge in the Khadakwasla Dam area and at the house of the accused.

On May 11, the accused asked the victim to come with him for a walk. However, when the victim refused him, the accused forcibly took her to the lodge in the Khadakwasla area and sexually assaulted her. Shockingly, when the girl tried to resist him, the accused assaulted her, made her drink beer, and further raped her. The victim further mentioned in the complaint that the accused threatened to kill her if she told anyone about the incident.

After the incident, the victim lodged a complaint against the accused at Swargate police station on Monday, May 13. Based on the complaint, police registered a case against the accused under IPC 376, 376/2/N, 366, 354A, 323, and 506 and apprehended him. Swargate Police are conducting further investigation into the case.
