Pune: Pune’s Keshavnagar Mundhwa area was stunned yesterday after an incident of a heinous rape on a 15-year-old minor girl by two people came to light. In a harrowing incident, two people simultaneously raped a minor girl and fled the scene. The police immediately filed a complaint against the two accused in this case and put them behind bars.
This entire incident took place on Monday, January 29, between 6:30 and 8:30 in the evening in a bush in the Mula Mutha river bed in Manjari. In this regard, a victim girl filed a complaint against two accused, identified as Anurag Salve, 21, and Ganesh Anil Mhetre, 23, at Hadapsar police station.
As per the police reports, the victim girl and the accused are acquainted with each other. On January 29, the accused, Anurag Salve and Ganesh Anil Mhetre, asked the victim girl and her friend to go for a walk in the evening. After that, both the accused took the victim girl to the tree bushes near the Mula Mutha river bed in Manjri.
Taking wrong advantage of her loneliness, the accused, Anurag Salvi and Ganesh Mhetre, sexually assaulted the victim girl alternatively. After that, both the accused fled from the scene, leaving the girl alone. The next morning, when Anurag Salve again went to that location, he found the girl sitting there from yesterday evening.
He then dropped the girl outside her house and absconded from there. After reaching the home, the victim girl told her parents about the entire ordeal, detailing the cruelty with which both accused raped her.
The victim’s family then lodged a complaint against the accused at Hadapsar police station, demanding stringent action against the accused. Acting swiftly on the complaint, the Hadapsar police immediately apprehended the accused and booked them under IPC 376, 376(d) (A), and the POCSO Act. Further investigation in this case is being conducted by Assistant Police Inspector Dabhade.
