Pune: A shocking incident involving the sexual assault of a 24-year-old girl, threatening to harm and abusing her over her caste, took place in Vadki. By luring the girl to help her get an Aadhar card, the accused forcefully maintained physical relations with the girl and then threatened to kill her if she could tell anyone about this. This incident happened one and a half years ago and on Monday (29th), at around 1 p.m. in Wadki.
In this regard, a 24-year-old girl living at Manjri Farm filed a complaint at Loni Kalbhor Police Station on Tuesday. Acting on it, the police booked the accused, Vitthal Shivaji Landge, 25, a resident of Hemade Chawl, Hadapsar, under IPC 376, 376/2/N, 354, 504, 506, and the Scheduled Caste-Tribe (Prevention of Atrocities) Act.
As per the complaint, police informed that the accused and victim have been known to each other. In the first instance of sexual assault, the accused took the girl to a lodge in Wadki by falsely claiming to get her Aadhar card one and a half years ago. After going there, he sexually assaulted the girl and maintained physical relations with her. He further threatened her with ham if she complained about it.
Initially, the girl did not say anything about it to anyone. However, on Monday, January 29, the accused again came to the house of the plaintiff and demanded physical pleasure from her. When the girl refused him, the accused abused her with derogatory remarks against her caste.
He further verbally abused the girl over her caste identity and mistreated her. The girl further mentioned in the complaint that the accused further harassed her by repeatedly calling her.
Following the incident, police swiftly took action against the accused and booked him under appropriate sections of the IPC. Assistant Police Inspector Pawar is delving further into the investigations.
