Pune: Seven held, four suspended in drugs party case on FC Road

Pune: In a major action, the Pune Police have suspended two officials – PI Anil Mane and API Dinesh Patil – attached with the Shivajinagar Police Station. Earlier, two beat marshals were suspended in the case.

Seven people have also been arrested. Eight people, including Santosh Vitthal Kamthe, Sachin Vitthal Kamthe, Utkarsh Kalidas Deshmane, Yogendra Girase, Ravi Maheshwari, Akshay Dattatraya Kamthe, Dinesh Mankar and Mohan Raju Gaikwad, have been booked. API Savita Sapkale lodged a complaint in this connection.

On Sunday, a video clip went viral on social media about some youths consuming drugs in the toilet of a pub on a hotel premises on Fergusson College Road. The incident has again raised a question mark over the efficiency of the State Excise Department and the police.

The video clip shows the time after 1.30 am. It has been alleged that the pub was operating after 1.30 am by violating the rules of the police and the State Excise Department.

Meanwhile, the police are thoroughly investigating the party episode, where the drugs were consumed. The Police have seized the DVR of the CCTV at the hotel. Seven people, including the manager of the hotel, have been detained. The State Excise has sealed the hotel and all material on its premises has been seized.
