Pune: Koregaon Park Police have busted a prostitution racket that was going on in a flat in the Koregaon Park area. In the subsequent action, police rescued two international women and apprehended the one female accused.
The accused woman, identified as Mukda Getaisong Heechi, is originally a resident of Thailand. She runs an illegal sex racket in one of the housing societies in the Koregaon Park area under the guise of a purported spa centre.
Koregaon police had learned of several complaints of sex rackets in the area but did not have exact, clear information about them. A few days ago, the police got information about this racket. Immediately, Koregaon Police sent a few people, faking them as customers at the location, to confirm the authenticity of the news.
After that, police raided a flat no. 8 on the second floor of Sukhwani Classic, South Main Road, Koregaon Park area, and apprehended the accused. In this action, police rescued Thai women who were cheatedly brought to India, posing them to work in the spa centre. It is learned that the accused owner of this racket brought them into India by alluring them with money.
Accordingly, on the basis of a complaint filed by Police Constable Raisa Sameer Baig, the main accused in the case was booked by Koregaon police under IPC 370 and the Prevention of Immoral Traffic in Persons Act.
