Pune: Police commissioner takes action against criminal, six accomplices under MCOCA

PUNE: The police commissioner has taken action against Sanket Devidas Londhe who had spread terror in Parvati area by assaulting a person with a sharp weapon for teasing his sister and his six accomplices under MCOCA. CP Ritesh Kumar has so far taken action against 53 organised criminal gangs under MCOCA.

Action under MCOCA has been taken against gang leader Sanket Devidas Londhe (20), a resident of Janata Vasahat, gang member Prateek alias Bitya Pandurang Kamble (20), a resident of Sinhagad Road, Ajit alias Ajya Sanjay Taide (20), a resident of Janata Vasahat, and Shubham Digambar Gajdhane (19), a resident of Dandekar Bridge and three minor kids under MCOCA.

When the complainant was walking near the Ramkrishna Math near Dandekar Bridge, Sanket Londhe, Prateek kamble, Ajit Taide, Shubham Gajdhane and three minors came near him. A minor boy caught his collar and assaulted him by accusing him of teasing his sister and others also abused him and kicked him. A minor boy tried to kill him by using a sickle but the complainant dodged and saved himself.

Later, the accused went to the area where the complainant stays, displayed sickles in the air and threatened to kill anyone who complains against them and spread terror in the area. An FIR has been registered against the accused sections 307, 452, 143, 144, 147, 148, 149, 323, 504, 506 of the IPC, Arm Act and Maharashtra Police Act and four persons have been arrested. Three minor boys have been apprehended.

The accused, Sanket Londhe, formed a gang and in the last 10 years, has committed serious crimes like attempted murder, causing injury or assault, grabbing homes, illegal gathering of mob, causing property damage and creating terror. Preventive action had been taken against them but they have repeatedly committed such crimes.

Senior PI Jairam Paigude had submitted a proposal about adding clauses of section 3 (1)(ii), 3(2), 3(4) of MCOCA to the FIR registered against them at the Parvati police station to Addl CP Pravin Kumar Patil through DCP Suhail Sharma. The addl CP examined the proposal and gave his approval. ACP Appasaheb Shewale is carrying out further investigation.
The CP so far has taken action against 53 organised criminal gangs so far under MCOCA. In the future also, such action will be taken.

The action was taken under the guidance of CP Ritesh Kumar, Joint CP Sandeep Karnik, Addl CP Pravin Kumar Patil, DCP Suhail Sharma and ACP Appasaheb Shewale by Senior PI Jairam Paigude, PI Vijay Khomne, PSI Jagdale, policemen Deepak Lodha, Mahesh Chougule, Gorakh Madgude, Raju Jadhav, Kundan Shinde and Jagdish Khedkar.
