Pune: Owner of paan kiosk near Karve Nagar college held for selling ganja and banta tablets

PUNE: The owner of a paan kiosk owner has been arrested by Anti-Narcotics Cell 1 for selling ganja and banta tablets near a college in Karve Nagar. The ANC has seized 110 gm ganja and 3 kg 515 gm banta pills.

The accused has been identified as Rambabu Devnarayan Mahato (31), a resident of Karve Nagar, Pune and hailing from Bihar. Officials and policemen of ANC were patrolling in the limits of Warje Malwadi police station. Policemen Pandurang Pawar and Sachin Malve got information that ganja and banta pills were being sold at Om Sai paan shop. The information was verified.

The police team raided Om Sai paan shop and Rambabu Devnarayan Mahato was apprehended. From his shop, 110 gm ganja, 3 kg 515 gm banta and a mobile totally worth ₹47,350 were seized. An FIR has been registered against him at the Warje Malwadi police station under the NDPS Act.

CP Retesh Kumaarr, Joint CP Sandeep Karnik, Addl CP Ramnath Pokale, DCP Amol Zende, ACP Sunil Tambe guided Sr PI Vinayak Gaikwad, API Shailaja Jankar, policemen Maruti Pardhi, Pravin Uttekar, Vishal Dalvi, Pandurang Pawar, Sandip Shirke, Rahul Joshi, Sachin Malve, Sujit Wadekar, Dnyaneshwar Ghorpade, Nitesh Jadhav, Rehana Shaikh, Sandesh Kakde and Yogesh Mohite in taking the action.
