Pune: Notorious criminal detained under MPDA Act; This is the 33rd detainment action taken by CP Ritesh Kumar

PUNE: Police Commissioner Ritesh Kumar has taken action against a criminal, who had spread a reign of terror in Bharati Vidyapeeth and Katraj areas, under the MPDA Act and issued orders about his detainment.

The notorious criminal, who is police records, has been identified as Chandrakant Ramdas Mane (21), a resident of Ambegaon Khurd.

Chandrakant Mane with his aides have committed crimes like attempted murder, causing serious injury and possessing sharp weapons in Sinhagad Road and Bharati Vidyapeeth areas and five FIRs have been registered against him in last three years. Local residents are scared of complaining against him as they are worried that they will be harmed and their properties will be damaged.

Sr PI Vijay Kumbhar and Sr PI Chandrakant Bedre had sent a proposal of taking action against Mane under MPDA. CP Ritesh Kumar checked the proposal and issued orders that Chandrakant Mane should be detained in Amravati Jail for a year. This is the 33rd such action taken by CP Ritesh Kumar.
