Pune: A 34-year-old woman living in Dighi fell into the trap of the accused, who falsely promised her a fake marriage and kept a physical relationship with her. After that, when the woman asked him about the marriage, he refused and cheated on her. This incident took place in the Wadgaon Sheri area from 2020 to October 2023.
In this regard, the plaintiff girl filed a complaint against the accused at Chandannagar police station on Sunday, February 4. The accused is identified as Pradeep Tukaram Jadhav, age 40, and is an original resident of Duttnagar, Puskhed, Taluka Walwa, District Sangli.
As per the police information, the accused and the plaintiff first met on the matrimonial site named ‘Shadi.com’. After liking each other’s profiles, they both shared their numbers with each other and started talking. The girl complained that the accused, Jadhav, falsely claimed to be a Naib Subedar in the Indian Army.
He falsely told the plaintiff that he had been divorced from her wife. After that, the accused lued the victim by showing her fake marriage proposals and then kept physical relations with her in spite of her will. However, after learning about Jadhav’s reality, the accused confronted him about this.
At that time, the accused confessed that he had put wrong information on the site, and he clarified that he could not marry her. After learning that she had been cheated, the plaintiff woman filed a complaint against the accused at Chandannagar police station on Sunday.
Acting on the complaint, the police booked the accused under IPC 376, 376/2/N, 417, 504, and 506. Further investigation in this case is being conducted by Police Sub-Inspector Dilip Palve.
