Pune: Man from Hinjewadi cheated of Rs 12.57 lakh by cyber criminal

Pune: A 33-year-old resident of Hinjewadi was cheated of Rs 12.57 lakh by a cyber criminal on the pretext of giving 30-40 percent more on the invested amount. The incident took place on June 22 in Hinjewadi and Baner area.

Sudarshan Laxman Sanap filed a complaint at Hinjewadi police station in this regard.

The Hinjewadi police have registered a case against UPI ID bank account holder.

The police officer from Hinjewadi police station said, ” The accused asked the complainant to join a Telegram group and has sent a link to him. The complainant was promised 30-40 percent more commission on the investment amount if he completed the task on the given link. It has been stated in the complaint that the complainant was cheated of Rs 12.57 lakh after the accused gained his trust.”
