Pune: Kondhwa Police Arrest Three Criminals with Firearms and Seized Vehicle (Video)

Pune: In a swift operation conducted by the Kondhwa Police, three notorious criminals were apprehended, along with the seizure of two pistols, live cartridges, and a Chevrolet car valued at Rs 2 lakh 78 thousand. The arrests were made on Saturday evening (17th) at Hotel Garwa Hills, situated on the road leading to Bopdev Ghat.

The suspects, identified as Prafulla Nivritti Nikam (41 years old, from Satara), Simon Romeo Mirinda (25 years old, from Thane West), and Sameer Bhagwan Sankpal (25 years old, from Satara), were taken into custody. A case has been registered against them under the Arms Act and Maharashtra Police Act at the Kondhwa Police Station.

Assistant Police Inspector Dinesh Kumar Patil and Police Constable Vishal Memane received intelligence suggesting that three individuals were dining in a white Chevrolet car at Hotel Garwa Hills and were believed to be armed with a pistol. Upon verification, the suspects were spotted conversing near their vehicle, a short distance from the hotel.

Acting swiftly, the police team laid a trap and detained the suspects. A search of their persons led to the discovery of an iron pistol and three live cartridges on Prafulla Nikam, and a country-made iron pistol and three live cartridges on Simon. Subsequently, two pistols and six live cartridges, valued at Rs 1 lakh and 3 thousand, were seized from the accused. Additionally, the Chevrolet car used by the perpetrators was impounded.

It was revealed that Prafull Nikam has a long-sanding criminal record, with five cases registered against him in various police stations, including Patan, Karad, and Kasarwadi. Simon also has a case registered against him at the Navpada police station. Further investigations are being conducted by Police Constable Satish Chavan.

The operation was conducted under the guidance and supervision of Police Commissioner Amitesh Kumar, Joint Commissioner of Police Pravin Pawar, Additional Commissioner of Police East Regional Division Manoj Patil, Deputy Commissioner of Police R Raja, Assistant Commissioner of Police Ganesh Ingle, Senior Police Inspector Santosh Sonawane, and Crime Police Inspector Mansingh Patil, with the dedicated efforts of Assistant Police Inspector Lekhaji Shinde and the diligent team of police personnel including Vishal Memane, Satish Chavan, Lavesh Shinde, Shahid Sheikh, Laxman Holkar, Santosh Bansude, Sujit Madan, and Suraj Shukla.
