Pune: Jewellery & cash looted by thieves in ten closed flats in Narhe village

Pune: Robbers broke into ten flats in Anuj Vihar, Matru Chhaya and other societies near Tulja Bhavani temple in Abhinav area of Narhe village and looted Jewellery and cash. The burglary took place on Sunday at around 2 and 2:30 am. The residents are shocked by the theft in ten closed flats in three societies.

The flats in which people were living, the door handles of the locked flats were cut from the outside by the theives. Not only jewellery, cash but also items like mobile charger, electric grill were stolen from the cupboard. The robbers came in a four-wheeler. They stole a new empty car from Matru Chhaya society, but seeing the blockade at night near Navale bridge, they left the motor and fled in their own four-wheeler. Sinhagad police inspected the spot and further investigation is underway.

Prof. Dattatray Pisal, a resident from Narhe said, ” The population in Narhe area is increasing on a large scale and to that extent the police system is insufficient and these incidents are happening frequently and there is scope for increasing crime. It is necessary to increase the police patrol in this area to prevent such incidents from happening.”
