Pune: Illegal Bangladeshi Resident Arrested in Mahalunge; Case Registered under Foreign Persons Act

Pune Crime News

Pune: Yesterday, Mahalunge police apprehended a Bangladeshi citizen, Subroto Sushil Vaidya (25), for residing illegally in the Mahalunge area. The arrest took place on Wednesday, January 10, around three in the afternoon at the construction site of a new shed near G.E. Company within the jurisdiction of Shinde village in Khed taluka.

The case has been registered against Vaidya for illegal residence under the Foreign Persons Act and the Passports (Entry into India) Act, following a complaint filed by Police Constable Sampat Maruti Mule (42) at the Mahalunge police station.

The police received information about the presence of an illegal Bangladeshi national in the Mahalunge MIDC area. Subsequently, a thorough search was conducted, leading to the arrest of Vaidya, who was unable to produce any legal documents supporting his residency in India.

Investigations have revealed that Vaidya entered India without proper authorization from the civil officers at the India-Bangladesh border. He was employed at the construction site of a new shed near GE Company in the MIDC area under the Mahalunge police station limits.

Further investigations into the matter are ongoing, with police sub-inspector Dattatraya Jadhav leading the inquiry.
