Pune: Husband Receives Two-Month Jail Term from Indapur Court for Mental Torture of Wife

Pune: The Indapur court sentenced two months imprisonment and a fine of Rs 10,000 to the husband who used to physically and mentally tortured his wife in Sansar in Indapur taluka. The husband used to demand Rs 1 lakh and also a gold chain with his wife. The sentence was given by Sessions Judge K.C.Kalal.

Atul Bapurao Kale the accused husband along with his father, mother, sister and brother used to torture his wife during the period from December 7, 2015 to September 7, 2016. They used to tell her that she was mad and her family did not give the dowry which was agreed. All the family members of Kale used to mentally and physically abuse and torture Atul’s wife.

Walchandnagar police had registered a case in this matter. Police constable Vasant Waghole investigated the crime and police sub-inspector Ratilal Chaudhari assisted in the investigation. Public Prosecutor A.P.Lokhare effectively examined the four witnesses. The court has convicted Atul Bapurao Kale (26) the husband of the complainant woman and sentenced him to imprisonment for two months and a fine of Rs 10,000 also if the fine is not paid then the imprisonment will be extended for 20 days. The complainant mother-in-law, father-in-law, sister-in-law and brother-in-law were acquitted in this case.
