PUNE: A woman police officer who had gone to the Abhiruchi police chowki to lodge a complaint against a police employee who was harassing her even after she had taken back her molestation complaint, was assaulted by the police employee outside the chowki.
The Sinhagad Road police have arrested Nilesh Andres Bhalerao, a resident of Santacruz, Mumbai. A woman PI has lodged a complaint (417/23) at the Sinhagad Road police station. The incident took place outside the Abhiruchi police chowki on Sunday at 2.45 pm.
According to the police, the accused Nilesh Bhalerao, is stationed with Force One in Mumbai. When the complainant was working at MIA in 2018, the accused had come there for Force One training. At that time, he had assaulted and molested her after obstructing her government work. The complainant had lodged a complaint at the Wanawadi police station.
Later, after requests made by family members of the accused, she had taken back her complaint. Even after this, the accused Nilesh Bhalerao used to call her on the mobile and harass her. The woman PI had gone to Abhiruchi police chowki to lodge a complaint against him. After the police accepted a non-cognisable complaint, she started going to her house with her husband.
At that time, Nilesh came there. He told her that she had done a wrong thing and increased his problems and assaulted her. He pushed her on the staircase, molested her and abused her. The policemen at the chowki immediately arrested Bhalerao. API Chandanashiv is probing the case.
