Pune: Engineer cheated with the lure of providing him a Air India flight ticket at a discount of 40 percent

Pune: In a shocking incident a software engineer was cheated of Rs 2.40 lakh on the pretext of giving him the Air India flight ticket at 40 percent discounted rate.

In this matter a 34-year-old engineer residing at Tathawade has filed a complaint at Hinjewadi police station. Accordingly, the police have registered a case against Lavish Jain, a resident of Pimpri-Chinchwad.

According to the information provided by the police, the complainant is working in a company in Kharadi. His friend runs a kitchen trolley manufacturing business in Canada. His wife is pregnant. For her delivery, a friend had requested his mother to arrange a flight ticket to Canada and send her to Canada. Another friend of the complainant said that Lavish Jain is into procuring tickets. Accordingly the complainant contacted Lavish Jain who said that he has setting in Air India. He has some quota of tickets and he is selling them. The complainant then checked the return ticket to Canada. Then it was Rs 2.40 lakh . When the complainant told Lavish Jain about it he said that I will give a 40 percent discount on that ticket. Accordingly the complainant sent Rs 1.30 lakh. He said that the ticket for August 18 has been booked and will be available two days in advance. When the complainant called on August 16, he said that the flight was cancelled and the reason I can’t send you the ticket.

Book your next flight ticket or I will refund your money within three days. He asked for Rs 1.40 lakh for a new ticket. Accordingly, the complainant again sent Rs 1.40 lakh to Jain’s account. He said that the flight was on 22nd August, but even after repeated calls, Lavish Jain did not pick up his phone or give the ticket and also the money was not returned. Therefore, after realising that he has been cheated the software engineer rushed to the police and filed a complaint.
