Pune Crime Branch Busts Criminal Operation, Seizes Two Homemade Pistols

PUNE: The Anti-Extortion Cell (AEC) 2 of Pune Police Crime Branch has arrested a criminal on police record for illegally possessing country made pistols. It has seized two pistols and four live cartridges from him.

The accused has been identified as Sahas Vishwas Pol (24), a resident of Vadkigaon, Purandar taluka. An FIR has been registered against him at the Loni Kalbhor police station under Arm Act and Maharashtra Police Act. The police laid a trap in Uruli Devachi area and arrested the accused.

CP Ritesh Kumar had issued orders that people carrying unlicensed pistols and those supplying weapons should be located and action should be taken against them. When AEC officials were trying to locate such people, policemen Surendra Jagdale and Sachin Ahiwale got the information that Sahas Pol, a criminal on record, had country made pistols in his possession.

The police laid a trap in the Uruli Devachi area and arrested the accused. Two country made pistols worth ₹42,000 and four live cartridges were seized from him. An FIR has been registered against the accused and he has been arrested. The accused was produced in the court and he has been remanded in police custody. The accused is a notorious criminal and an FIR of causing injury is registered against him at the Hadapsar police station. PSI Mohandas Jadhav is carrying out further probe.

The action was taken by PI Pratap Mankar, API Changdev Sajgane, PSI Mohandas Jadhav, policemen Sachin Ahivale, Surendra Jagdale, Pradeep Shitole, Vijay Gurav, Sangram Shingare, Ishwar Andhale, Anil Mengde, Rahul Uttarkar, Saidoba Bhojrao, Chetan Apte, Amol Pilane, Shankar Sampte, Kishor Barge, Chetan Shirolkar, Pradeep Gade and Asha Kolekar under the guidance of CP Ritesh Kumar, Joint CP Sandeep Karnik, Addl CP Ramnath Pokale, DCP Amol Zende, ACP Satish Govekar.
