Pune: CP Ritesh Kumar acts against Sagar Kolanatti and his 19 accomplices under MCOCA in Mangala theatre murder case

PUNE: The police commissioner has taken action against the accused in the Nitin Mhaske murder case, Sagar alias Yallya Kolanatti and his 19 accomplices under MCOCA. CP Ritesh Kumar has so far taken action against 55 organised criminal gangs under MCOCA.

When Nitin Mhaske and his friend were going home after watching Gadar 2 movie at Mangala theatre, they had been assaulted by Sagar alias Yallya Kolanatti and his accomplices and Mhaske had been killed. The accused had assaulted Mhaske on his neck with swords, iron rods, sticks and pieces of tiles and murdered him.

The incident had taken place on August 16. An FIR has been registered at the Shivaji Nagar police station under sections 302, 141, 142, 143, 144, 145, 147, 148, 149 of the IPC, Arm Act, Maharashtra Police Act, Atrocity Act.
During investigation, gang leader Sagar alias Yallya Irappa Kolanatti (35), a resident of Tadiwala Road, Sushil Achyutrao Suryawanshi (27), Mallesh Shivraj Koli (24), Manoj Vikas Havle (23), Rohan Mallesh Tupdhar (23), Shashank alias Rishabh Santosh Bengle (21), Gudgappa Fakirappa Bhgrai (28), Kishor Sambhaji Patre (20), Sahil alias Sallya Manohar Kamble (20), Ganesh alias Gampat Shivaji Chowdhary (24), Rohit alias Macchi Balaji Bandgar (20), Vicky alias Nepya Kashinath Kamble (22), Imran Hamid Shaikh (31), Lawrence Raju Pillai (36), Akash Sunil Gaikwad alias Chaddi (22), Vivek Bholenath Navghare (25), Akshay laias Bunty Vijay Sable (25), Vinayak Ganesh Kapde (21), Pradip Santosh Pawar (21), Sourabh Balu Sasane (20) have been arrested.

Gang leader Sagar alias Yallya Irappa Kolanatti formed a criminal gang and has committed many crimes for financial gains. The accused have committed many serious crimes like murder, causing serious injury, possessing weapons, causing riots, damaging property, violating police orders, assaulting citizens and injuring them, spreading terror by displaying sharp weapons to establish their supremacy and spreading terror. Preventive action had been taken against the accused but they have repeatedly committed such crimes.

ACP Vasant Vaman Kunwar had submitted a proposal of adding sections 3 (1)(ii), 3(2), 3(4) of the MCOCA in the FIR registered against the accused at the Shivaji Nagar police station to Addl CP Pravin Kumar Patil through DCP Sandeep Singh Gill. The addl CP examined the proposal and gave his approval. Further investigation is being carried out by ACP Vasant Kunwar.

The CP has so far taken action against 55 organised criminal gangs so far and similar action will be taken in the future.

The action was taken under the guidance of CP Ritesh Kumar, Joint CP Sandip Karnik, Addl CP Pravin Kumar Patil, DCP Sandeep Singh Gill, ACP Vasant Kunwar by Senior PI Dhanyakumar Godse, PI Vikram Goud, API Bholenath Ahivale, policemen Memane, Dilip Nagar and Rohit Zambre.
