Shivajinagar, 3rd July 2023: The former Director of the DRDO lab in Pune, Senior Scientist Dr Pradeep Kurulkar, is currently facing grave accusations of sharing classified information with the Pakistani intelligence agency ISI.
The Maharashtra State Anti-Terrorism Squad (ATS) recently filed a comprehensive 1,835-page charge sheet against Dr Kurulkar in a special court. However, to the disappointment of many, the charge sheet did not include any charges of sedition. In response to this, the Pune City Congress Party organized a protest outside the Pune ATS office, calling for sedition charges to be brought against the accused scientist.
The protest, spearheaded by Mohan Joshi, the state vice president of the Congress party, and MLA Ravindra Dhangekar, aimed to highlight the dissatisfaction and confusion surrounding the absence of sedition charges against Dr Kurulkar. Despite the serious allegations of betrayal against the nation by sharing classified information with Pakistan’s ISI, the lack of sedition charges has left both the public and Congress party members perplexed.
During the protest, MLA Ravindra Dhangekar expressed his disappointment and demanded the immediate registration of a sedition case against Dr Kurulkar. He emphasized the need for swift action by the ATS to address the concerns of the public and warned of a potential mass movement if their demand was not promptly addressed.
The Pune City Congress Party stands firm in its conviction that sedition charges should be brought against Dr Kurulkar due to the severity of the allegations. They believe that this would be an appropriate legal response to his alleged betrayal of the country’s trust and sharing of confidential information with a foreign intelligence agency.
