Pune: Thieves targeted seven flats situated in Keshavnagar, Chinchwad, during the early hours of Sunday, making away with gold jewellery and a music system with a combined value of Rs. 20,000 from one of the flats. The incident came to light when a 25-year-old software engineer, who had been renting a flat in Keshavnagar, lodged a complaint with the Chinchwad police after discovering the robbery upon her return from Lonavla on Sunday afternoon.
According to police reports, the woman had left for Lonavla on Saturday for some work and returned the following day to find the locks of both her safety door and main door broken. The thieves had apparently managed to break into her flat and make off with her valuable possessions without being noticed.
In response to the complaint, the Chinchwad police have launched an investigation and are actively collecting CCTV footage from the area to identify the culprits behind the theft. The incident has caused concern among residents in the Keshavnagar locality, as they fear further such incidents might occur.
