Pune: Bank official booked for molesting woman colleague

Pune: A bank official has been booked for misbehaving and molesting a woman peon at its branch in the Bund Garden area. The incident took place for the past 2-3 months till 10 pm on May 28 on the mobile phone of the victim.

The 43-year-old victim lodged a complaint at the Bund Garden Police Station on Wednesday. Naynesh Vajkar Mona (50) has been booked under sections 354, 509, 506 of the IPC.

According to PSI Chetan Dhanawade, the complainant works as a peon in the nationalised bank. The accused, Naynesh Vajkar Mona, is a senior clerk in the branch.

A month ago, the accused tried to molest the victim. He also threatened her with dire consequences if she complained to anybody. He called her up on WhatsApp on May 28. He used obscene language on the phone and sought sexual favours from her. This prompted the victim to lodge the complaint with the police. The investigation was underway, said PSI Dhanawade.
