Pune: Bail Release to New Charges! Accused Under Radar for Alleged GPS Tracking of Girl

Pune Crime News

Pune: The accused individual, previously apprehended in a cheating and sexual assault case and subsequently released on bail, now faces fresh legal entanglements. Once again ensnared in a legal quagmire after his release from jail, the accused finds himself booked in a new case, this time for allegedly tracking a girl by connecting a GPS system to her vehicle.

In this case, a 23-year-old victim girl lodged a complaint against Lakhan Mahdev Bhise of Baramati, at the Vishrambaug police station on Saturday. Accordingly, the accused has been charged under IPC 354(d). The given incident took place between August 2023 and January 2024.

The plaintiff works for a private company and is already acquainted with the accused. The accused and the plaintiff initially met each other on a matrimonial site last year. After that, they became good friends with each other, which led to the development of a loving relationship between them. After that, the accused, Lakhan Bhise, enticed the plaintiff with marriage and maintained cunning physical relations with her.

Bhise also took jewellery worth eight lakh rupees from the plaintiff, citing his financial problems. However, soon after, the accused went back on his marriage promise and refused the girl for marriage. Astonishingly, he also denied returning the girl’s jewellery.

Upon realising that she had been cheated, the victim immediately rushed to the Khadak police station and lodged a complaint against the accused. The police also took active note of the complaint and apprehended the accused in the cheating and rape cases.

A few months ago, Bhise was released from jail on bail. However, soon after coming out of bail, the accused started harassing the girl by constantly tracking her movements. For this nefarious plan, he attached a GPS system to the girl’s bike without her consent.

After noticing that she had been regularly watched by the accused, the girl reported the incident to law enforcement authorities and filed a complaint against the accused. The police have removed the GPS device from the girl’s bike and sent it for examination. The further investigation of this crime is being carried out by the female sub-inspector of police, Swati Bhorad, of the Khadak police station.
