Pune: Anti-Narcotics Cell of Pune police Crime Branch arrests man for trying to sell Mephedrone worth ₹10 lakh

PUNE: The Anti-Narcotics Cell of the Pune police Crime Branch has arrested a man for selling drugs and Mephedrone worth ₹10 lakh. The action was taken at the Pune railway station.

The accused has been identified as Sohail Yunus Khopatkar, a resident of Mumbai. An FIR has been registered against the accused under the NDPS Act at the Bund Garden police station.

The ANC 2 team was patrolling in the limits of Bund Garden police station. Police Naik Syed Sahil Shaikh and Police Constable Azim Shaikh got the information that Sohail Yunus Khopatkar was going to come to the Pune railway station area to sell drugs. After completing legal formalities, the team apprehended Sohail. When he was searched, 51 gm 430 milligram Mephedrone worth ₹10 lakh 30 thousand was found. The police seized the drug and arrested him after registering an FIR.

The action was taken under the guidance of CP Ritesh Kumar, Joint CP Sandeep Karnik, Addl CP Ramnath Pokale, DCP Amol Zende, ACP Satish Govekar by PI Sunil Thopte, PSI SD Narke, policemen Syed Sahil Shaikh, Azim Shaikh, Ghule, Deshpande, Jadhav, Gaikwad, Shelke and Salunkhe.
