Pune: 48-year-old businessman from Pimple Saudagar conned by six people on the pretext of investment in supermarket

Pune: The greed of getting more on the investment turned out to be a bitter experience for a 48-year-old businessman from Pimple Saudagar. Six people conned him on the pretext of investing in supermarket and mini supermarket and earning a double on the investment. The businessman was cheated of Rs 36 lakh and the incident took place between October 2021 and April 2022 at Pimple Saudagar.

The complainant Deepak Bhanudas Ghorpade, a resident of Pimple Saudagar filed a complaint at Sangvi Police station in the case. Accordingly, the police registered a case against Mukesh Kumar Tyagi a resident of Uttar Pradesh, Mohammad Faizan Khan a resident of Dubai, Sachin Ramchandra Suryavanshi a resident of Satara, Santosh Rajaram Pawar, Anil Kashiram Jadhav both a resident of Mumbai and also a woman.

According to the police, “The accused pretending to be directors of two companies explained various plans to the complainant about starting a supermarket and mini supermarket. They also lured him with lucrative returns like Rs 1 lakh for 35 months and Rs 60,000 for 30 months and also five percent on every sale at the supermarket and mini supermarket. They took around Rs 36 lakh from the complainant as an investment but when the complainant did not receive any returns on investment neither he was given his invested amount then he realised that he had been cheated and lodged a complaint.”
