Pune: 35-year-old alcohol addict arrested for stealing vehicles, Two tempso and one swift car seized

Pune: The crime branch unit-3 of Pune police have arrested a 35-year-old alcohol addict for stealing vehicles. The arrested accused is a history-sheeter. Police have seized two stolen tempos and one swift car from him.

The name of the accused has been identified as Abhishek Sharad Pawar a resident of Guruwar Peth in Pune. The officials and staff of crime branch unit-3 were patrolling the Dattawadi area when Santosh Kshirsagara assistant police inspector arrested a man who was seen loitering around a tempo near Deshpande Park. When he was interrogated he confessed to the crime.

Pawar told police that he had stolen the tempo from the Swargate area a few days back. He said that he used to steal vehicles from Swargate, Hadapsar and Katraj area to fulfill his alcohol addiction. He used to give the stolen vehicles on rent and then used to buy alcohol from the money which he used to earn through rent.

He had stolen vehicles from Hadapsar, Swargate and Bharti Vidyapeeth police station jurisdiction. Two tempos and one swift car have been seized from him.

The action was initiated under the guidance of Ramnath Pokale (additional commissioner of police), Amol Zende (deputy commissioner of police), Sunil Tambe (assistant commissioner of police), Shrihari Bahirat (senior police inspector), Ajith Kumar Patil, Rahul Pawar both police sub-inspector and constables Santosh Kshirsagar, Sharad Vakse, Sujit Pawar, Sanjeev Kalambe, Ganesh Shinde, Sainathak Karke and Bhagyashree Waghmare.
