Pune: 10 people cheated of Rs 25.65 lakh by the cyber thugs

Pune: It has come to light that ten people were cheated of Rs 25.65 lakh by the cyber thugs on the pretext of an online task. Vaishali Vinod Kumar Gupta (36) a resident of kharadi has filed a complaint in Chandannagar police station. A case has been registered against the cyber thugs in this matter.

Gupta is working in a private company. Cyber thugs had sent a message to Gupta’s mobile number. The thieves had lured him to work from home online. The thieves have told him that content on social media, as well as audio and video can generate good returns if viewers like them. After that thieves took Rs 25.65 lakh from ten people including Gupta through online mode.

Rajendra Landge, senior police inspector, Chandannagar police station said, ” The cyber thugs initially gave all the ten people some money. After that, the cyber thugs blocked their mobile numbers. After realising about the fraud Gupta lodged a complaint with the police. We are further investigating the case.”
