Police Raid Exposes Prostitution Racket at Hotel Sarkar on Pune-Nashik Highway: Arrests Made, Victims Rescued

Pimpari: In a recent police raid, Hotel Sarkar located on the Pune-Nashik highway was exposed as a hub for a prostitution racket. The Anti-Human Trafficking Unit (AHTU) of the Pimpri Chinchwad police conducted the operation and successfully rescued two girls who were lured into the flesh trade. The lodge operator, Ajit Sanjivnal Goutam, and the owner, Sudhakar Sanjeeva Shetty, have been arrested in connection with the racket.

The AHTU had been investigating the operation of prostitution rackets in various establishments within the jurisdiction of the Pimpri Chinchwad Police commissionerate. Acting on specific information, the AHTU targeted Hotel Sarkar on the Pune-Nashik highway. Prior to the raid, a decoy customer was sent to gather evidence and confirm the presence of the prostitution racket. Once the information was verified, the raid was conducted, resulting in the rescue of several young girls who had been coerced into the flesh trade.

The Pimpri Chinchwad police, under the guidance of Commissioner of Police Vinay Kumar Choubey, Additional Commissioner of Police Vasant Pardeshi, Deputy Commissioner of Police Swapna Gore, and Assistant Commissioner of Police Satish Mane, took swift action to apprehend the lodge operator and the owner. The team involved in the operation included PI Devendra Chavan, PSI Pradeep Singh Sisode Dhairyasheel Solanke, Vijay Kamble, Sunil Shirsat, Sudha Toke, Bhagwanta Muthe, Maruti Karchunde, Ganesh Karote, Vaishnavi Gavde, Sangeeta Jadhav, and Sonali Mane.

Prostitution rackets operating from hotels, lodges, and spas have been a recurring issue in the Pimpri Chinchwad area. The police have been actively cracking down on such establishments and have successfully rescued numerous victims in the process. The recent raid on Hotel Sarkar serves as a stern warning to those involved in illegal activities and reaffirms the commitment of the Pimpri Chinchwad police to combat human trafficking and ensure the safety and security of all citizens. An FIR has been registered against the lodge operator and the owner, marking a significant step in holding those responsible for such heinous crimes accountable for their actions.
