Pimpri Chinchwad Police Find 70 Lost and Stolen Phones from State; Soon to Hand Over to Original Owners After Completing Formalities (Video)

Pune: In a significant development, the anti-robbery team of the Pimpri Chinchwad Crime Branch has recovered 70 smart mobile phones of different companies that were reported to have been lost and stolen in different police stations within the Commissionerate in the last year. The police Commissionerate has informed that the collective price of these phones is worth 10 lakh, 14 thousand, and 700 rupees.

In the Pimpri Chinchwad Commissionerate, several complaints of missing mobile phones were filed between the years 2023 and March 2024. In this regard, Police Commissioner Vinay Kumar Choubey ordered the crime branch team and unit to conduct a special operation to find and recover the lost mobile phones.

Accordingly, a team of police officers and employees of the anti-robbery squad was formed. The team collected information on complaints about lost mobiles. Police Commissioner Pravin Kamble technically investigated the lost mobiles and gathered information about the missing mobiles that have become active recently.

After that, the anti-robbery squad officials were given the names and addresses of the activated mobile numbers. Acting on the information, the team seized 70 active smart phones worth Rs 10 lakh, 14 thousand, and 700 from the districts of Amravati, Kolhapur, Ahmednagar, Nashik, Beed, Jalna, Aurangabad, Dharashiv, Solapur, etc. Police officials have informed that seized mobiles will be returned to their original owners soon after completing the legal formalities.

This action was taken by the team of Pimpri Chinchwad Police consisting of Senior Police Inspector Vaibhav Shingare, Assistant Police Inspector Sagar Panmand, Police Sub-Inspector Bharat Gosavi, Police Constables Praveen Kamble, Mahesh Khande, Audumbar Ronge, Umesh Pulgam, Vikrant Gaikwad, Ganesh Hinge, Ashish Bankar, Rahul Kharge, Nitin Lokhande, Praveen Mane, Sagar Shedge, Ganesh Kokane, Ganesh Sawant, Sumit Devkar, Vinod Veer, Amar Kadam, Sameer Raskar, Chintaman Supe, Nagesh Mali of Technical Analysis Department, and Popat Hulge.

During the investigation, the guidance of Commissioner of Police Vinay Kumar Choubey, Additional Commissioner of Police Vasant Pardeshi, Deputy Commissioner of Police Sandeep Doifode, and Assistant Commissioner of Police-Crime Branch Balasaheb Kopnar has also proved useful.
