Mushroom Girl’ Divya Rawat Arrested in Pune for Alleged Fraud: Businessman Claims Deceit

In a surprising turn of events, Divya Rawat, popularly known as the ‘Mushroom Girl’ and the brand ambassador for mushroom farming in Uttarakhand, along with her brother Rajpal Rawat, has been arrested in Pune. The arrest comes in response to allegations of fraud raised by Pune-based businessman Jitendra Bhakra, who claims Rawat refused to pay for his services and orchestrated a false fraud case against him in Dehradun.

The incident unfolded on February 9 when the Rawat siblings were taken into custody after Bhakra accused Divya Rawat of defaulting on payment for a project he completed. According to police reports, Bhakra was commissioned to construct a showroom in Dehradun for Rawat’s upcoming fitness product launch. Upon completion of the project, Bhakra presented a bill exceeding Rs 1 crore, but Rawat insisted on paying only Rs 57 lakh.

When Bhakra pressed for the full amount, Rawat allegedly threatened to file a false case against him. Subsequently, in 2022, a fraud case was registered in Dehradun based on a fake affidavit, leading to Bhakra’s arrest and subsequent release on bail.

Upon returning to Pune, Bhakra filed a complaint against Rawat. In an attempt to settle the case, Rawat and her brother contacted Bhakra, proposing a settlement amount of Rs 32 lakh. Bhakra, however, offered to pay Rs 10 lakh and suggested they collect the draft in Pune. The arrest took place on February 9 when the Rawat siblings arrived in Pune for the meeting.

The duo was presented before a local court in Pune, which subsequently granted the police custody of Rawat and her brother for two days.
