Married Woman Allegedly Gang-Raped by Husband and Five Friends in Pune: FIR Registered

A distressing incident has recently been brought to light in Pune, where a 23-year-old married woman was allegedly subjected to a gang rape by her husband and five of his friends. At present, no arrests have been made in connection with this deeply disturbing case.

The victim’s father took swift action by filing a complaint, leading to the registration of a case against the woman’s husband, who resides in the Chhatrapati Sambhajinagar (Aurangabad) district, as well as the others involved. The complaint was lodged at Market Yard Police Station in Pune, setting in motion an official investigation into the matter.

According to the police, the victim had been enduring persistent abuse at the hands of her husband, which eventually compelled her to seek refuge at her parents’ home in Pune. Tragically, on February 27, 2020, her husband visited her in Pune and lured her outside, where she was subjected to a brutal sexual assault by him and his five companions. To compound her suffering, the perpetrators recorded this heinous act on a mobile phone. They further tormented her through repeated abuse, coupled with threats to circulate the video if she dared to report the incident to the police.

In response to the gravity of the situation, a court order prompted the Market Yard Police to officially register a case in relation to this appalling incident. Authorities have initiated a thorough investigation, aiming to collect all relevant evidence and ensure that those responsible for this heinous crime are brought to justice. The victim will be provided with the necessary support and resources to navigate through this traumatic experience.
