Man Detained for Threatening to Kill Maharashtra Minister Chhagan Bhujbal in Pune Death Threat Case

The Pune Crime Branch has taken a significant step in the investigation of a death threat made against newly-inducted Maharashtra Cabinet Minister Chhagan Bhujbal. A man named Prashant Patil has been detained in connection with the case and is currently being interrogated. The arrest took place in Mahad, and Patil will be brought to Pune for further legal proceedings. The incident occurred when Chhagan Bhujbal was attending an event in Pimpri-Chinchwad.

Following the receipt of the threat, an official complaint was promptly lodged, prompting the Pune Crime Branch to initiate a thorough investigation. Through meticulous tracing of the threat call, law enforcement officials were able to locate and apprehend Prashant Patil. According to reports, the threatening call was made by Patil while under the influence of alcohol.

Chhagan Bhujbal’s office immediately alerted the Pune Police about the incident, leading to swift action. The Crime Branch, under the guidance of Commissioner of Police Ritesh Kumar and Joint Commissioner of Police Sandeep Karnik, along with other senior officers, including Deputy Commissioner of Police Zone 2 Smartana Patil, Deputy Commissioner of Police Crime Branch Amol Zende, and Assistant Commissioners Sunil Tambe and Satish Govekar, worked in collaboration with the Koregaon Park Police to apprehend the suspect.
