Man Cheats Nine Youths of ₹29 Lakh Under the Guise of Providing Them Jobs in the Army

Pune, 23rd June 2023: In a distressing incident, a man has defrauded nine youths of ₹28.88 lakh by falsely promising them employment in the Indian Army. The culprit, identified as Pramod Bhimrao Yadav (27), a resident of Kondhwa, deceived the victims by wearing an army uniform and claiming to have connections with senior military officials. The affected individuals hail from Pune, Dhule, Sambhaji Nagar, and Satara.

A complaint (637/23) has been lodged at the Kondhwa police station by a 29-year-old resident of Nandgaon in Nashik district. The fraudulent activities occurred between September 2022 and June 18, 2023.

According to the police, Pramod Yadav masqueraded as an officer in the Indian Army and enticed unsuspecting individuals with the promise of securing army jobs through his alleged connections. Taking advantage of their aspirations, he collected ₹28.88 lakh from youths residing in Satara, Dhule, and Sambhaji Nagar. However, as time passed and the victims failed to secure the promised employment even after a year, they realized they had been swindled and subsequently filed a complaint with the police. It is suspected that Yadav may have cheated other individuals as well, prompting further investigation by API Babar.

Instances of individuals being duped by fraudulent job schemes are unfortunate and require strict action to prevent such exploitation in the future. The authorities are working diligently to apprehend the culprit and ensure justice for the victims.
