A distressing incident unfolded on Thursday evening near Sterling Multi Specialty Hospital and Research Centre in Nigdi, resulting in the arrest of Sandeep Uttam Jadhav (38) from Pimple Gurav. Pimpri-Chinchwad police took swift action following an assault on a doctor and other hospital staff members, allegedly fueled by dissatisfaction with the medical treatment provided to Jadhav’s mother.
The incident occurred between 7:30 and 8:00 pm, prompting the intervention of law enforcement. According to police reports, Jadhav expressed discontent with the treatment given to his mother, who was admitted to the hospital. Tensions escalated as he engaged in a heated disagreement with hospital staff over the presence of family members with his mother.
The dispute reached a boiling point on Thursday, with arguments flaring up as hospital staff denied permission for Jadhav’s kin to stay with his ailing mother.
In an angered state, Jadhav allegedly assaulted Dr. Pradnya Ingale and other staff members, threatening them with harm. A formal complaint was filed by Dr. Pradnya Ingale, leading to the registration of a case at Nigdi police station on Friday. The accused faces charges under relevant sections, and an ongoing investigation seeks to shed light on the circumstances surrounding the incident.
