Major Drug Bust in Pune: Cocaine, Mephedrone, and Ganja Worth Rs 37 Lakh Seized in Coordinated Raids

In a significant operation, Pune Police have successfully confiscated drugs worth Rs 37,30,000, including cocaine, mephedrone (MD), and ganja, in separate raids conducted in Kondhwa, Vishrantwadi, and Wanowrie. The meticulous actions, guided by top police officials, resulted in the apprehension of three individuals involved in drug-related activities.

According to Pune Police reports:

  • On February 14, 2024, Police Constable Yogesh Mandhare, during patrolling in the Undri area, discovered Tanzanian national Hassani Mwinyi Mchonga in possession of 152 grams of cocaine valued at Rs 30,40,000. The suspect was apprehended, and a case has been registered under Sections 8(c) and 21(c) of the NDPS Act.
  • On the same day, acting on information provided by Police Officer Chetan Gaikwad, a raid in Vishrantwadi resulted in the seizure of 22 grams of Mephedrone (MD) worth Rs 4,50,000 from Rajasthan native Kisan Nandkishore Ladhar. He has been charged under Sections 8(c) and 22(b) of the NDPS Act.
  • On February 15, acting on information from Police Officer Ravindra Rokade, Wanowrie Police seized 9 kilograms of Ganja worth Rs 2,40,000 from the possession of Onkar Anil Chandalia. A case has been registered under Section 8(c) and 20(b)(ii)(b) of the NDPS Act.

The successful operation was conducted under the guidance of Commissioner of Pune Police Amitesh Kumar, Joint Commissioner of Pune Police Pravin Pawar, Additional Commissioner of Pune Police (Crime) Shailesh Balakwade, Deputy Commissioner of Pune Police (Crime) Amol Zende, and Assistant Commissioners of Pune Police (Crime) Zone 2 Satish Govekar.
