In a disturbing incident that sheds light on the dark side of unchecked jealousy, a man in Pune attempted to take his wife’s life, driven by suspicions over her WhatsApp communication. The Sangvi Police have swiftly arrested both the husband and his father in connection with the shocking assault.
The accused, identified as Vicky Sonawane, allegedly became enraged by his wife’s conversations on WhatsApp. The situation escalated as he frequently consumed alcohol and subjected his wife to physical abuse. Matters took a terrifying turn when Vicky reportedly placed a rope around his wife’s neck, tethering it to the ceiling fan, and pushed her off a chair.
Compounding the distressing situation, the father-in-law, identified as Ramesh Sonawane, was reportedly aware of these incidents but failed to intervene or come to the defense of the victimized wife.
MD Warude, Sub Inspector at Sangvi Police Station, provided insight into the case, stating, “Both the accused in the case have been arrested, and further investigation is underway.”
The Sangvi Police Station has registered a case against the two accused under Sections 307 (attempt to murder), 506 (criminal intimidation), and 34 (common intention) of the Indian Penal Code (IPC).
This harrowing incident underscores the alarming consequences of unchecked jealousy and domestic violence. The legal proceedings will determine the accountability of the accused for their actions.
