Hadapsar Police Crack Down on Gang Involved in Robberies and Vehicle Theft, Solving Nine Cases

Pune, 2nd July 2023: The Hadapsar Police in Pune have achieved a significant breakthrough by apprehending a notorious gang responsible for a series of robberies across the city. As a result of their diligent investigation, nine criminal cases, including eight forcible thefts, have been solved.

The gang comprises ten adult suspects and four juvenile offenders. Over the span of one week, the Hadapsar Police team meticulously probed nine cases, involving eight robberies and one vehicle theft. The culprits involved in these crimes will face prosecution under the MOCA Act, according to Senior Police Inspector Arvind Gokule, who is in charge of the Hadapsar police station.

One of the incidents occurred on 20th June when Prabhati Papat Javale (74) was returning from her walk in the Manjari Budruk area. Two individuals on two-wheelers snatched her gold necklace. The police examined more than 450 CCTV footages and successfully identified the suspects. Policemen Bhagwan Hambarde and Anirudh Sonwane received information that the alleged culprits were residing in Mangalwar Peth. Consequently, they apprehended Swapnil Ishwar Kendale (30) from Sambhajinagar Nevasa. Kendale confessed to being involved in chain thefts in Hadapsar, the Airport area, along with Amol Bhaskar Shelar of Mukindpur, Nevasa, and the wanted suspect Amar Chiru Kamble.

Vijay Ramakrishna Dedgaonkar (63) was arrested for purchasing the stolen jewelry in Kolhar, located in Ahmednagar district. Furthermore, two vehicle thieves, Atharva Pradeep Shendge (18) from Parvati Darshan and Pranav Shankar Dhaware (18) from Shivtejnagar Upper Indiranagar, were apprehended.

On 27th June, the gang stole a motorcycle after stabbing its owner with a knife. As a result of the police operation, two mobile phones, two motorcycles, and two Activa scooters worth Rs. 2.5 lakhs were seized from the suspects.

This successful operation was conducted under the guidance of Police Commissioner Retesh Kumaarr, Joint Police Commissioner Sandeep Karnik, Additional Commissioner Ranjan Kumar Sharma, Deputy Commissioner of Police (Zone 5) Vikrant Deshmukh, and ACP (Hadapsar division) Ashwini Rakh.

The investigation team consisted of Senior Police Inspector Arvind Gokule, Police Inspector (Crime) Vishwas Dagle, Assistant Police Inspector Vijay Kumar Shinde, Police Sub-Inspector Avinash Shinde, and dedicated police personnel, including Sandeep Rathod, Sameer Pandule, Sachin Jadhav, Shahid Sheikh, Prashant Dudhal, Nikhil Pawar, Atul Pandharkar, Bhagwan Hambarde, Anirudh Sonwane, Sachin Gorkhe, Manoj Survase, Amol Danke, Prashant Tonpe, Kundlik Keskar, Rashid Sheikh, Ajit Madane, and Chandrakant Rejitwad.
