Gangster Creates Chaos and Damages Petrol Pump Machinery after Refusing to Pay for Fuel

Pune: An incident unfolded at a petrol pump where a gangster, after getting his motorcycle’s fuel tank filled, refused to pay and went on to create a disturbance, causing damage to the pump’s machinery. Pump employees managed to apprehend the self-proclaimed ‘bhai’ (gangster) and handed him over to the authorities.

The Hadapsar police have filed a First Information Report (FIR) against Vaibhav Ankush Bhagat (30), a resident of Hadapsar. The complaint was lodged by Amol Bhagwat Devkar (27) at the Hadapsar police station. The incident occurred at the Jai Shambho petrol pump in Fursungi on Thursday at 4:45 am.

According to the police, two individuals arrived at the Jai Shambho petrol pump around 4 am. Shivaji Surve filled their vehicle with petrol worth ₹100. When Surve requested payment, the motorcycle rider, identified as Vaibhav Bhagat, claimed that no harm could be done to him. He boldly declared that he was unafraid of the police and demanded Surve to fill his motorcycle’s tank.

When Surve refused, Bhagat grabbed a stone and hurled it at the petrol pump’s machinery, causing damage. Subsequently, the complainant reluctantly filled the motorcycle’s tank. However, even after the tank was filled, Bhagat continued his destructive behavior by throwing stones at the pump’s machines.

Furthermore, Bhagat targeted parked cars, damaging their windshields, and even stole money from one of the vehicles. The pump workers promptly alerted the police, and the owner of the petrol pump, Raviraj Deshmukh, arrived at the scene. Together, they managed to apprehend Vaibhav Bhagat until the arrival of Police Naik Kamble, Bhosle, and Kumbhar, who took him into custody.
