From Protectors to Perpetrators: Pune Constables Nabbed in Lalit Patil’s Jailbreak

Drug Mafia Lalit Patil

In a shocking development, the escape of notorious drug racketeer Lalit Patil from Sassoon General Hospital has taken a new twist as two Pune Police constables, Natharam Kale and Amit Jadhav, find themselves on the wrong side of the law. Unit Two of the Crime Branch executed the arrests, charging both constables from Police Headquarters with dereliction of duty and negligence.

Commissioner of Police Retesh Kumaarr wasted no time in suspending the arrested constables, emphasizing the gravity of their alleged misconduct during the escape of Lalit Patil, who is currently in Pune Police custody.

Lalit Patil’s escape prompted a swift response from law enforcement, resulting in the arrest of several individuals connected to the drug mafia, including his brother Bhushan Anil Patil, Abhishek Ulhas Balakawade, Subhash Janki Mandal, Rauf Rahim Shaikh, Jishan Shaikh, Pragya Arun Kamble, Archana Kiran Nikam, Director of Rosary School Vinay Vivek Aranha, Aranha’s driver Datta Doke, and Arvind Lohare. A subsequent raid on Lalit Patil’s residence unveiled a stash of gold worth crores of rupees, along with the seizure of multiple vehicles.

In response to the escape, Commissioner Kumaarr took decisive action by suspending seven police personnel, including an Assistant Police Inspector, a Sub-Inspector, and an Assistant Sub-Inspector. The focus of the investigation turned to the two constables on duty during Lalit Patil’s escape, with specific accusations of dereliction of duty and negligence leading to their arrest by Unit Two of the Crime Branch.

DCP (Crime Branch) Amol Zende underscored the importance of the ongoing investigation, highlighting the lapse in duty by the two arrested constables during Lalit Patil’s escape, underscoring the commitment to ensuring accountability within the police force.
