Pune, August 17, 2023: In a shocking incident, the Pune City Police have successfully apprehended four individuals involved in the brutal murder of a young man outside Mangala Theatre in the city. However, the search for seven other suspects is still ongoing. The victim, who had a history of 24 criminal cases registered against him, was brutally murdered due to an old feud, according to the police.
The tragic incident unfolded on Wednesday around 1:10 am, when 35-year-old Nitin Mhaske was exiting the theatre after watching a late-night movie. He was ambushed by a group wielding swords, iron rods, and sticks, sustaining grievous injuries. Despite being rushed to the hospital, Mhaske succumbed to his injuries and was pronounced dead by medical professionals.
Notably, Mhaske had previously been arrested in connection with an attempted murder case, wherein he had attacked one of the individuals now accused of his murder. Following his release on bail in May of this year, Mhaske had become a target for a rival gang seeking to settle scores. The assailants had been tracking him since his release, and on the fateful night, they confronted him along with his three friends. The attackers instructed Mhaske’s companions to step aside before launching their assault.
As the investigation continues, the police are actively pursuing the seven remaining suspects involved in this heinous crime. The incident serves as a grim reminder of the consequences of unresolved conflicts and underscores the need for effective law enforcement to maintain public safety.
