Doctor Couple Faces Legal Action for Alleged Involvement in Illegal Abortion amid Rape Case

Pune Crime News

In a distressing case reported in Hadapsar, Pune, a young woman has come forward with allegations of rape and subsequent coercion for an illegal abortion. The accused, an acquaintance she met through social media, has been booked by the Hadapsar police, along with his family members and the doctor involved in the alleged illegal abortion.

The survivor, who had moved to Pune for educational purposes, encountered the accused through social media. The accused reportedly deceived her, enticing her into a fictitious marriage before committing the alleged act of rape. Subsequently, when the victim inquired about marriage, the accused started avoiding her.

As the young woman found herself pregnant, the accused’s parents allegedly pressured her into undergoing an abortion. The survivor, in her complaint, stated that she faced threats of violence, death, and even being thrown into the Ujani Dam if she did not comply with their demands.

The victim was reportedly coerced into visiting a hospital in Uruli Kanchan, where the abortion procedure was allegedly conducted illegally. The Hadapsar police have now registered a case, and Assistant Police Inspector Umesh Rokde is leading the ongoing investigation.
