PUNE: The Anti-Terrorism Squad (ATS) submitted a 1,835 page chargesheet in the special court on Friday by accusing former DRDO Director and senior scientist Dr Pradeep Kurulkar of supplying sensitive information to Pakistani spies. The city unit of the Congress staged an agitation outside Pune ATS office on Monday protesting against the fact that the treason charge has not been levelled against Kurulkar in the chargesheet and demanded that the treason charge should be levelled against him.
The agitation was led by Congress Vice-President Mohan Joshi and MLA Ravindra Dhangekar. Dhangekar said that Kurulkar had supplied sensitive information to Pakistani agencies. “Pradeep Kurulkar has indulged in anti-national activities and it was expected that treason charge will be levelled against him. The common man is puzzled why the treason charge was not levelled when Kurulkar had committed a serious crime” Dhangekar said.
“We are staging this agitation to demand filing of treason charge against Kurulkar. The ATS should take note of our demand and file a treason charge against Kurulkar or we will launch a public agitation on the issue,” Dhangekar said.
