    Pune: In a recent operation conducted by the Anti-Narcotics Cell (ANC) of the Pune Police Crime Branch, three highly qualified youths hailing from Gadchiroli and Bhandara districts were apprehended for their involvement in selling ganja in Pune. The police successfully confiscated drugs with an estimated value of ₹11.70 lakh.

    The arrested individuals have been identified as Ram Rajesh Bais (20) from Gadchiroli, Hrithik Kailas Tembhurne (21) from Bhandara district, and Nikesh Pitambar Anole (22) from Gadchiroli. The ANC officials, including Havaldar Chetan Gaikwad and Havaldar Ravindra Rokde, were on patrol duty within the jurisdiction of Chandan Nagar police station on June 18, 2023, when they received information about the arrival of three individuals near a footpath on Kharadi bypass road.

    Upon informing their superiors, the officials were instructed to take necessary legal action. Subsequently, a well-planned operation was executed, leading to the arrest of the suspects. During the arrest, the police seized ganja valued at ₹11.14 lakh, three mobile phones worth ₹50,000, and cash totaling ₹11.70 lakh. An FIR has been registered against the accused at the Chandan Nagar police station under the Narcotic Drugs and Psychotropic Substances (NDPS) Act.

    The successful operation was carried out under the guidance of several officers, including PI Sunil Thopte, ASI Ghule, and the diligent efforts of Havaldar Chetan Gaikwad, Santosh Deshpande, Sandip Jadhav, Ravindra Rokde, Mahesh Salunkhe, Sahilsayyad Shaikh, Nitin Jagdale, Azim Shaikh, and Dinesh Bastewad. Their actions were supervised by CP Retesh Kumaarr, Joint CP Sandeep Karnik, Addl CP Ramnath Pokale, DCP Amol Zende, and ACP Satish Govekar.

    This arrest serves as a reminder of the continuous efforts made by law enforcement agencies to curb drug trafficking and maintain the safety and well-being of the community. The police remain committed to taking stringent action against those involved in such illegal activities, regardless of their educational background or qualifications.
