Amit Sahu held for killing Nagpur-based woman BJP worker Sana Khan

Nagpur, Aug 12 (UNI) A Nagpur-based woman BJP worker Sana Khan was killed by her husband Amit Sahu and he was arrested, police said.

According to the police Amit Sahu alias Pappu (37), a resident of Jabalpur in Madhya Pradesh, who runs a dhaba, killed his wife Sana Khan (34) by hitting her with a stick in his house and later dumped her body into a river.

The accused said he killed his wife over monetary and personal issues by hitting her with a stick in his house and later threw her body into the Hiran river from a bridge near Meregaon village under Belkheda police station limits, police told UNI on Saturday.

He was arrested from Jabalpur’s Gorabazar area on Friday on the charge of killing Sana Khan, who was the BJP’s minority cell functionary in the eastern city of Nagpur, police said.

A search operation is underway to find the victim’s body in the river and its nearby areas, police further said.

The accused also revealed the name of his accomplice who was present with him during the offence and a manhunt for that man is also on, police said.

Nagpur police registered a case on August 1 and its team visited Jabalpur on August 4 in search of the woman after the probe revealed that as per her last location, she was at a house in Jabalpur.
