Sukhoi Fighter Jet Mishap in Maharashtra’s Nashik: Pilot and Co-pilot Safe

In a concerning turn of events, a Sukhoi fighter plane of the Indian Air Force encountered a mishap in Nashik district, Maharashtra, on Tuesday afternoon. Fortunately, the pilot and co-pilot managed to eject safely, averting a potential tragedy.

According to local authorities, the pilot and co-pilot were swiftly rescued following the incident and promptly transported to the Hindustan Aeronautics Limited (HAL) hospital for further medical attention.

Identified as a Su-30 MKI, the aircraft crashed in the vicinity of Shirasgaon village in Nifad tehsil. Reports indicate that Wing Commander Bokil, along with his second-in-command, Biswas, were at the controls when the unfortunate incident occurred around 1:20 p.m.

Despite the harrowing ordeal, both pilots sustained only minor injuries and are currently undergoing treatment at the HAL hospital. Following the crash, the aircraft ignited, prompting immediate firefighting efforts which successfully extinguished the flames. The aftermath revealed scattered debris of the plane spanning a radius of approximately 500 meters.

It has been disclosed that the Sukhoi fighter jet had been relocated to Nashik from its usual practice grounds in Pune, possibly due to technical issues warranting repairs. Investigations are underway to ascertain the precise cause of the crash.
