The NDA Open Squash 2023 witnessed exceptional performances as Chaitanya Shah and Janet Vidhi clinched the men’s and women’s singles titles, respectively. This Two-Star National ranking squash tournament, conducted under the esteemed banner of the Squash Racket Federation of India (SRFI), brought together over 198 players, including national-level participants, serving officers, veterans, and NDA cadets. The event commemorated the ’75 Glorious Years of National Defence Academy Khadakwasla’ and unfolded at the state-of-the-art Indoor Sports Complex at the National Defence Academy from September 15 to September 17, 2023.

Chaitanya Shah’s Victory in Men’s Singles

In a thrilling men’s singles final, Chaitanya Shah, representing Maharashtra, delivered a stunning performance by upsetting the top-seeded Vaibhav Chauhan of Services. Shah secured his victory with a scoreline of 11-08, 11-08, 13-11, showcasing his exceptional skills on the squash court.

Janet Vidhi Dominates Women’s Singles

The women’s singles category witnessed top-seeded Janet Vidhi from Maharashtra demonstrating her supremacy. She triumphed over Aryaa Dwivedi of Telangana with a dominant performance, achieving victory with a score of 11-05, 11-02, 11-04.

The Grand Culmination and Prize Distribution

The ‘NDA Open Squash’ tournament concluded with a grand prize distribution ceremony, graced by the presence of Vice Admiral Ajay Kochhar AVSM, NM, Commandant of NDA, along with notable figures such as Dr. Dayanand Kumar, Joint Secretary of MOA, and Dr. Pradeep Khandre, President of Maharashtra Squash Rackets Association.
