Vande Bharat Express Struggles: Mumbai-Pune-Solapur Route Faces Unprecedented Delays

Mumbai, India – The Vande Bharat Express, renowned as the fastest and typically punctual train in the country, has faced a wave of delays in recent months on its Mumbai-Pune-Solapur route. Over the last three months, the train, heralded for its speed and efficiency, has experienced more than 40 instances of delays, causing inconvenience for passengers.

Unprecedented Delays

In October alone, the train encountered its maximum delays, ranging from 18 to 20 days. Passengers, who rely on the efficiency of the Vande Bharat Express, have expressed their concern and frustration, urging authorities to address the repeated disruptions.

Prime Minister’s Focus

The Vande Bharat Express holds a special place in the Prime Minister’s Office, with specific instructions to strictly adhere to its schedule. To accommodate this, other trains are temporarily halted to allow Vande Bharat to proceed unimpeded. However, recent trends indicate that the train is facing delays due to various reasons, impacting not only its schedule but also affecting other train services.

Reasons Behind Delays

The delays in Vande Bharat Express are attributed to a mix of technical issues and other reasons. Passengers, already accustomed to the seamless travel experience provided by the train, are now grappling with delays ranging from two minutes to one hour. October has seen a surge in delays compared to the preceding months of August and September.

Railway Division’s Response

Dr. Ramdas Bhise, DCM & PRO of Pune Railway Division, assured that continuous efforts are being made to adhere to Vande Bharat’s schedule. While the train has followed its schedule more than 90 percent of the time in the last three months, occasional delays have been reported, mostly due to technical reasons with delays ranging from five to seven minutes.

As passengers express their concerns, railway authorities are committed to resolving the issues impacting the Vande Bharat Express to restore its status as a symbol of speed and efficiency in Indian rail travel.
