Urgent Action Needed: Lohegaon Residents Raise Concerns Over Bharat Mata Road Issues

In a plea for immediate action, the Lohegaon Residents Welfare Association (LRWA) has brought attention to the pressing issues plaguing Bharat Mata Road in Dhanori, Pune. The LRWA has highlighted concerns related to traffic management, frequent accidents, absence of street lights, and other safety issues, urging authorities to intervene for the well-being of the residents and commuters.

Ravi Ganachari, Secretary of LRWA, emphasized the gravity of the situation, stating, “The bridge at Jakat Naka is narrow and incomplete, leading to frequent accidents where vehicles have overturned. The absence of street lights makes driving on Bharat Mata Road extremely dangerous at night. Encroachments add to the chaos, and the lack of speed breakers compounds the safety hazards. Despite our complaints, no authority has taken decisive action, and recent accidents raise serious concerns about the road’s safety.”

LRWA’s official X handle expressed the urgency of the matter, stating, “Repeated accidents on Bharat Mata Road are alarming. Complaints to PMC Traffic Police have yielded no resolution. Urgent action is needed to ensure the safety of all commuters, as lives are at stake.”

Netizens React and Call for Pune Traffic Police Intervention

Concerned netizens have actively engaged in the conversation, sharing their experiences and urging prompt intervention. One user highlighted issues at Jakat Naka, non-functional traffic lights at the Dhanori Road/Jakat Naka junction, and heavy traffic on the narrow Porwal Road, adding, “No proper public parking spaces in the area near markets. The situation worsens during the evening hours.”

Another user directed their plea to Pune Traffic Police, stating, “Pune Traffic Police must intervene urgently to ensure there is discipline on the road and lives are saved.”

Expressing frustration, a user commented, “This matter is really serious. Despite continuous follow-ups, still, things are not done. How many more serious accidents should happen before action is taken?”

Contacting Pune Traffic Police Officials

In an attempt to seek clarification and comment on the issue, Pune Pulse reached out to Pune Traffic Police officials. However, they refused to provide any statement on the matter.

As concerns continue to mount, residents and commuters eagerly await the necessary actions from the authorities to address the critical issues on Bharat Mata Road.
