In a strategic move to boost infrastructure development in Maharashtra, the Maharashtra State Road Transport Corporation (MSRDC) is set to lease out land parcels along the Pune-Mumbai Expressway. This initiative aims to generate substantial funds that will be redirected towards essential projects within the state. A total of 24 land parcels spanning Pune and Raigad districts have been earmarked for this ambitious plan, with an impressive 450 hectares of land set to be leased for a period of 99 years.
The decision to lease these land parcels comes as a result of identifying long-neglected, unused land assets along the Pune-Mumbai Expressway. With the objective of optimizing the land resources, MSRDC has taken a significant step forward in harnessing the potential of these previously dormant properties.
A senior MSRDC official, speaking to the Times of India, revealed that the revenue generated from these land parcels will be channeled into various ongoing infrastructure projects across the state. These crucial projects include the Samruddhi Expressway, Pune Ring Road, Jalna-Nanded Expressway, and the Virar Multimodal Corridor.
In terms of land allocation, MSRDC possesses approximately 189 hectares of land in Pune district and another 262 hectares in Raigad district. The forthcoming tenders for leasing these land parcels are expected to attract significant attention from investors and developers alike. The chosen bidders will have the opportunity to lease these lands for a substantial 99-year period, facilitating long-term planning and development.
This bold move by MSRDC not only promises to revitalize previously neglected land resources but also opens doors for substantial investments and growth opportunities in the state of Maharashtra.
